About this listing

Sunnyside is an immensely warm and welcoming 18th century character cottage within charming little streets of Kingsand, reminiscent of Polperro or Port Issac. The beach is just a couple of minutes’ walk down the gentle hill, with an inviting pub perfectly placed next to the lapping waves. The cottage is pet and child friendly, and the beach is clean with clear waters and allows dogs all year round. The streets are mostly too small for vehicles and thus very quiet and safe for everyone as well as being extremely pretty.

The space
Sunnyside has a lovely outdoor patio, ideal for barbecues, which enjoys the sunshine all afternoon and evening. However, staying inside can be just as pleasant with character features and comfortable furniture. The Wifi is great and there are two fantastic new bathrooms, a well-equipped country-style kitchen and tasteful, homely decoration throughout. Kingsand is still
something of an undiscovered gem with a rich history in fishing and smuggling! It has quaint, narrow, cottage-lined streets to rival the likes of many well known picturesque Cornish villages, whilst still retaining much of its unspoilt charm.

The property being on a beautifully quiet area called ‘The Green’ which narrows to a pretty pedestrian-only walkway. There isn’t space for parking right by the property, but you can drive to it and drop off people and belongings before finding parking. There is some free on-street parking on streets nearby, particularly in Cawsand, Kingsand’s twin village, which will give you no more than a 10 minute walk (at a reasonable pace) once parked. There is a pay car park less than five minute’s walk from the holiday home that charges £25 for a week via the Ring Go App. It’s just by the Halfway House Inn the seafront. The cost of living in a beautiful picture-perfect small Cornish seaside village 🙂

There are shops to be able to buy your essentials and the lovely Westcroft Gallery displaying local artists’ paintings. There are plenty of places to dine out or just go for an evening drink, some with a stunning sea view. The Rising Sun, Devonport Inn and Halfway House Inn are a very short walk from the property, the latter two providing excellent food. Its twin village Cawsand has the Cross Keys Inn and The Bay restaurant, also fabulous options for dining out.

Getting around
There is so much to do and see around, such as catching the walk-on ferry from Kingsand to Plymouth Barbican area with lovely cafes, shops, restaurants and aquarium. Or you can get the Cremyl ferry over to the Royal William Yard. A short drive or hike up to the top of Rame Head gives you breathtaking views of the Rame Penninsular and Plymouth Sound from an ancient chapel on the top. Various boat trips going to Eddystone lighthouse or dolphin watching from the local beaches as well.

Antony House (National Trust) and Mount Edgcumbe House (with its incredible 500-year-old gardens and cafes) are nearby and well worth a visit. Looe is about 45 minutes’ drive with Polperro just a few miles beyond. Further afield, there is of course the famous Eden Project.
